Conservation starts with a gift…
We have plenty of gift ideas with a difference for Mother's Day, all of which support our vital conservation work.

10.00am - Grab a coffee and pastry at Bembe
Start your day at Bembe with the simple pleasure of freshly brewed coffee and a delicious pastry before heading off to explore the zoo. Whether you’re craving a flaky, buttery croissant or a sweet pastry treat, it’s the perfect grab-and-go breakfast to enjoy with your morning cup.
Relax, refuel, and savour a quiet moment before a day of adventure.

10:30am - See the new tree kangaroo joey
Tree kangaroo Kitawa gave birth to a tiny male joey back in June. Now her baby is growing quickly in size and confidence, and is starting to explore outisde of Kitawa's pouch. Born as part of an international conservation breeding programme, he’s one of only a handful of Goodfellow’s tree kangaroos in the UK.
Make your way to Islands and watch the joey bravely explore on his own, before quickly diving back into mum’s pouch. Keep an eye out for a large head, foot or tail sticking out as he tries to fit back inside!
Or, why not book our Tree Kanagroo experience and get the rare opportunity to observe Kitawa and her joey up close as you feed them some tasty branches.

11am - Explore our indoor spaces
Spring is on its way, and March is when the zoo begins to bloom. But if you’re caught in a spring shower, our indoor spaces means the adventure doesn’t have to stop.
Not far from the tree kangaroo habitat is Monsoon Forest, with a warm, tropical climate. Here you can pause, reconnect, and be surrounded by the sounds of the zoo.
You might also spot some of the unique and rare species of birds that reside here, such as the blue-crowned hanging parrots or rhinoceros hornbill.
1pm - Mother's Day meal at The Oakfield
Take a break from exploring the zoo and spoil mum with a delicious Mother’s Day meal.
Head to The Oakfield for a special celebration lunch, complete with a complimentary glass of fizz just for Mum!
Or wander over to The Reserve and visit the Amboseli Restaurant, where our talented chefs have created a menu packed with irresistible dishes and tasty treats.

2pm - Visit some of our mums at the zoo

Fossas
Fossa Shala has her hands full with her litter of 4 pups who are growing more boisterous by the day. They are proficient climbers and can often be seen jumping around in the trees.

Snow leopards
Snow leopard Nubra is mum to Bheri. Living in cold mountainous habitats is tough so snow leopard cubs can spend up to two years shadowing their mother, learning all her best survival tips before setting out on their own.

Bornean orangutans
Bornean orangutan Leia is mum to Maria. Orangutans are committed mums, caring for their young for around seven years. While still tiny in stature, Maria is already practising her climbing skills under Leia's watchful eye.
2:40pm - Learn something new
Join our Zoo Rangers in the 'Spirit of the Jaguar' house for our jaguar chat and meet Bonita, one of the newest arrivals who came to us with her adult son Remi.
Jaguars are normally solitary but this mother and son duo have a great bond and have decided that they’re very happy staying together. They can be seen in the jaguar habitat adjacent to our other two jaguars, Napo and Inka.

3:30pm - Run wild
Just a short stroll from Jaguar Coffee House, you’ll find Nature Play - a vibrant outdoor play area packed with tunnels, swing bridges, climbing nets and stepping stones to conquer.
Grab Mum a well-earned coffee, take a seat, and let the little adventurers run wild.
Or, take a stroll through our award winning gardens.
Wander through our zoological gardens where we have over 130 species of incredible plants as well as waterfall features and ponds.
